MOA-restrobar-hotstone-bbq-grillUnlike normal electric bbq grill or charcoal grill, MOA Restrobar uses an unique hotstone to grill these premium meats. The advantage of their hotstone grill is that the hotstone is extremely hot and sears the meat quickly upon contact. The meat juices are locked in resulting in a superbly juicy, tender bite and lightly golden brown on the outside. The hotstone also imparts an earthy and natural flavours to these premium meats making them extra enjoyable and sustainable experience like Korean outdoor camping.

moa restrobar reviews robinson korean restaurantHere’s MOA Restrobar reviews after trying some of their signature Korean dishes. This Korean Restaurant at Robinson Road has some of the most sought after Korean food we see in Kdrama and Korean camping vlogs.  As recommended by their chef owner, their daily sold out best seller beef bulgogi bibimbap and the popular Hotstone Grilled Meat Set is the “bomb” in Korean slang.

ex-5star-hotel-chef-trained-chefThis is their head chef who is trained by Jeju Island’s ex- 5 star hotel Korean chef. This is how the signature MOA unique Hotstone Grill meat is prepared. The hotstone is heated till red hot on a stove and steak cut thick Duroc Pork Collar is then added.

Samgye-Tang ($17.90) aka Korean Ginseng Chicken Leg Quarter Soup consists of a large whole chicken leg simmered in a deep and rich ginseng soup with an insane ginseng aroma. The dates are used whole with seeds imparting a natural sweetness to the broth. The broth has a mildly bitter, earthy flavours which we enjoyed with the sweet onion flavours from the leeks. The soup feels nourishing and comforting. The ginseng used to brew the soup is believed to be good for the immune system, helps relieve fatigue and an energy booster. This comes in a set with free fow banchan, Korean tea and 1 rice.

This bibimbap is served in a dolsot (hot stone pot) and served with an interesting crackling sound on our table. This crackling sound is the actually rice grains toasted by the red hot stone bowl. When you are done with bibimbap, you can scrap the bottom of the pot for lightly charred, crunchy and chewy nurungji (scorched rice). If you have not try nurungi before, do give this a try.
