If you are looking for a seaside Christmas seafood buffet with live chilli crab hotpot, you may want to give LAUT. Smoke.Shabu.Grill a try. You can choose either a mookata grill or charcoal powered stove grill together with a hotpot.
This Laut Buffet for Christmas includes a newly added mookata pot where you can grill and hotpot with the meat juices from the mookata grill making the soup more gao as you grill.
LAUT Smoke.Shabu.Grill also added a new chilli crab hotpot to their menu where you can enjoy some DIY chilli crab in a savoury and mildly spicy soupy style. The chilli crab soup gets thicker, the more you hotpot in it. To cook the crabs faster, you can also cook them in clear collagen soup and adds in the chilli crab soup base later like a sauce. The soup choices are collagen, tomato and Mala soup base.
To celebrate this festive period, you also get to redeem one baby lobster for every paying adult. This is a one time redemption for baby lobster but all the rest of the seafood are free flow for this LAUT Buffet at Changi Beach Club.
The rest of the seafood that is free flow includes all you can eat live mud crab with seasonal orange roe. The live crabs are chopped into halves for ease of hotpotting and bbq on the grill stove. You can get them from their seafood display chillers. We were told that the chopped mud crabs are same as the live crabs chopped on the spot. They have chopped them up in advance to reduce waiting time for guests. Those crabs in the seafood display have straw strings around their claws still intact, which is tell tale signs that these were alive before they were chopped up daily. If you want them freshly chopped on the spot, there will be a queue expected.
Here’s our review of LAUT. Smoke.Shabu.Grill after trying almost their whole buffet menu. There are a good variety of seafood and meats with various sauces and condiments, to power up the bbq buffet and hot buffet experience. Located within a resort next to a private beach also adds to the experience, after all a seafood buffet restaurant by the sea with occasional sightings of otters is a rare find in Singapore.
You get to enjoy the beautiful sunset and the cool sea breeze as the evening draws nearer. The tables are arranged next to the beach, some are above the sea, some romantic bar tables for couples perched into the sea at the furthest end of the restaurant. Be there early to get a table of your preference where you can enjoy a sizzling bbq experience with piping hotpot and the soothing beat of the waves against the shores.
You can also chill out on their lounge chairs or take a stroll along the beach after your meal. The sunset is definitely a beautiful sight to behold at this restaurant by the sea at Changi. There are also occasional sightings of cute otters frolicking inside the sea or on the beach at this beach resort restaurant.
You can enjoy some of Singapore favourite seafood in this buffet. Their seafood includes crab, abalone, oyster, scallops, mussels, vannamei prawns, tiger prawns, giant river prawns, slipper lobsters, seasoned squid rolls, giant squid, marinated dory fish, Japanese hotate scallops, Asari clams, marinated baby octopus, shishamo, Venus clams and salmon fish steak. You can help yourselves to all you can eat seafood inside their seafood display chillers.
They also have daily freshly cut salmon sashimi displayed on a platter. You can enjoy these thick cut gems with wasabi and soy sauce at the sashimi display chiller.
With this newly added mookata stove top bbq grill, you can now enjoy the best of both worlds – bbq grill and soup ring. BBQ various premium meats in Thai, Chinese, Japanese, Korean style with the available sauces and condiments. Similar to the seafood display chiller, you also get to pick and choose your own meats in various marinades and cuts.
At Laut Singapore, you also get premium cuts such as galbi gui bone in beef ribs, bacons, mixed herbs beef and shogayaki chicken in these chiller at no extra cost. Slap on some delicious teriyaki sauce or gochujang on these bone in beef ribs. Enjoy a Japanese style bbq grill or Korean style grill all in one place. You can also enjoy Thai style mookata with greens and surimi from their display chiller.
They also have shishamo for your bbq grill if you love those buttery roes. Towards the end of your bbq buffet, you can diy and indulge with ufo cheese egg with the savoury soup base or make yourself a perfect grilled cheese wrapped bacon.
At their festive buffet hot stations, you get Hong Kong style steamed fish with superior soy sauce, carbs such as fried rice and steamed rice on chafing dishes to keep them warm and nice. They also have various other cuisines such as mixed seafood in Cajun sauce, green beans in crispy garlic chilli and okra in crispy shallot soy sauce. The finger food includes chicken pop corn, potato wedge and spring rolls.
Do not forget to check out their carving bar with daily roasts such as beef brisket in red wine jus & spice rub, German pork knuckle with mustard sauce, smoked pork brisket in garlic paprika rub and Japanese Chashu in sesame soy mirin glaze. Since it is a self-carving bar, you can cut as thick a beef steak as you wish. This is great news for meat lovers at this buffet.
End with an assortment of ice cream in flavours such as durian, matcha red beans, chocolate nuts, ube yam, coconut with nata de coco, mixed berries and more!
