According to the newpapers, many singapore elderly are been dumped at old folks homes. Many are not paying for the bills. Clients owe millions of dollars and a third of them owe the homes more than 3 months’ bills. It is saddening to see that even the rich families are not paying up. These people just want to dump the elderly and live on with their own life.

Singaporeans are getting desperate these days that they are always on the look out for extra cash. For $2k each, they are selling their children’s identity information. They help the children from China to get Singapore passports. With a Singapore passport, visa is not required to enter the United States. Teo Kian Guek, Geow Chai Pin and Tan Teck Ghee were jailed 2, 2 and 3 years respectively. 4 other parents were also charged.
Gain $2k and jailed for 1-2 year is not a good trade. The parent might end up losing more if the children’s identity is used for other illegal means.
