Singapore Idol Result Show – Paul Twohill Gone

Surprise? hmmm. i expected it since yesterday’s singapore idol performance. The judges picked the worst song for Paul Twohill. Singaporeans don’t like that kind of Song.

The judges murdered Paul Twohill? When he was tagged with Jonathan at bottom two, there was no way Paul is going to kick Jonathan out.

    Yes. Judges murdered TwoHill.

And I still think Jasmine souns VERY unnatural when she sings. She overdoes it. She doesn’t deserve to be in the finals.

Hady and Jon, the final two.

Then, things will get hot! ;)

Thanks again for all the video uploads SingaporeBeauty.

what da hell where the judges thinking making paul sing ” i wanna grow old with u”!!

its not even a real song!! both songs didnt fit paul!!

the songs paul sang such as “superman” and those before were nice..it is when he “listened” to the judges advice did he become bad…u guys agree?

i totally agree with you, danny.

the judges did not do justice for paul. the songs sucked and i think the judges wanted him to go. damn those bitches.

and jasmine is plastic. cold hard shiny plastic. shes too fake lah. her expressions are so stiff and she speaks crap.

as for final 2, it’d be hady and jon. they both deserve it. id rather it be paul and hady but waddehell.

    an adam sandler song?
how do the judges really expect us to view him as a compentant singer when he has to perform a crap of a piece like “i wana grow old with you”???
    it’s a conspiracy i tell ya…
the judges seriously destroyed the twohill-ator…

Hmm. I guess the logic behind the judges’ decision was that Paul has limited vocal capabilities, so they should give him a “simple” song right?
As much as I agree that Jasmine is plastic, unstylish and definitely someone whom I wouldn’t IDOL-worship (she looks like the girl at NTUC supermarket picking up groceries for mum) she has improved a lot in her singing. As in compared, to the time she sang that Spice Girl song during one of the Brit-themed shows. I have a gut feeling that she’s going to make it to the top two, and I am not really in favour of that. *shudders* She’s so typical! I guess our average-Singaporean Tan Ah Kow can identify and relate to her? But she just doesn’t have class lah. Sorry leh.

The second song for Paul was indeed quite an unfair challenge. Paul is a Walk-the-Talk image of Punk-Rockstar, not the boy next-door image, that’s Joakim’s rack. The judge’s choice of the second song and the image do not gel at all. I’d agree that Paul lacks interaction with the audience because of the hair, but that hair is the undeniable part of his identity. If a song like “You were there” by Southern Sons or “Back for Good” by Take That would have brought out the interactive side of Paul and also gel with the image. They are also in his vocal range. Its a song that everybody knows. Paul would have sold.

the judges made the right decision to give him those songs. we all know his vocal capability was limited, so they chose songs that were not too hard on his voice… to spare him from screwing up and ending up in embarrassment. secondly, they chose a song that would bring out his true personality which was his selling point all along.

this week he was at the bottom of the food chain. he had the best personality among the 4, but you know he was going to leave because he couldn’t compete with hady, jonathan or jasmine. he deserved a memorable exit, and he got it. the audience was touched.

the competitive nature of SI at last… has been restored.

i realize the ones putting jasmine down are all girls, even despite her amazing performance this week. cmon if ure so good then go down to compete with her if ure jealous.. dont be partial and support merely the guys, cos all of them did well.

whysoenvious, I agree, seems like the ones putting Jasmine down are girls. May be its really the girls who are voting in this reality show.

But Jasmine has really done very well in the last show. Her voice and diction was very very good. And she sang it in her own unique style. Good on you girl, Jasmine.

spore idol, you did bring out a very interestingly, different angle about the decision made by the judges. The embarrassment and vocal ability…I never thought of it in that way. But I still somehow feel that there is something missing between that song and Paul’s image/personality. I appreciate seeing it a different light though ;)

I saw it coming that Paul would leave because he has been in the bottom 2 the last few weeks. But I am still sad that he is out.

Paul has the potential, he probably needs more training and a good performing director (of some sort) to help him in the on stage delivery as well as a vocal trainer for vocal delivery. I believe talent can be trained.

i think hady will prob win. most consistent performer. but then again u never know.. going by lowest vote count it seems that jonathan will prob be next to go, then hady will win. lets see..

    Thank you, Sharon. Haha.

It appeared to me as if Paul had the most votes. But at least some logic and conscience prevailed… S’pore voted to keep the best remaining 3. What is worrying is the order which they get voted out. We’re expecting Jon or even Hady to leave next, who knows.

I was not comfortable with Jasmine’s singing… I agree she improved. There’s something really nice about the voice… there’s just a lack of control over it. Sadly the judges can have high praises for them… but with a catastrophic bunch of screaming teens right behind… they’re bound to miss out the off-keys… Only Florence ever changed her mind about a praise after watching a recording… and that was Milly.

I think it is gona be a hard fight between Jon and Jasmine tomorrow. Hady most likely will go to the finals. It really depends on their performance. Judging by votes, I think jon would go but personally, I think Jon is better than Jasmine cause he has a unique low voice.

Hmm, can someone tell us if that Cahill, Dunhill (or Hillbilly) thing could sing as well as he did – I said “well” because he eventually got voted this far, hadn’t he? Though I think otherwise – because of those metals??

Or could there be some implants in them? Like microchips, nano-synthesizers, etc, to finetune audio streaming out from his larnx?

In which case, Paul Senior must be some Rich Ded – imagine, spending such bomb$ to try to pull Junior out of olivion into the limelight… “Bombs” because JR did eventually flop, didn’t he?

Metals, metallic braces… He might just have given a totally new meaning to “Heavy Metal Rock Music”?
