Emilee vs Meryl, singapore idol!
My friend told me im crazy to vote for Emilee. But guess what! She is in! Poor Meryl! Dont worry, she is now in the wildcard!
Mathilda qualifies too but not for my liking, lol. So my prediction currently stands at 7/8!

It’s so freaking obvious Matilda has the best vocal out of all the SG Idol’s last batch of girls.
Though I must admit she looks *uuggh*. I dont get what’s with the green awful “very-indian-style” top and singing “Chain of Fools”.
Emilee is sooooo MANDO-singer. Her english is freaking horrible. No wonder the judges commented she’s a getai singer. Horrible brown “old-rag” and those boots that she puts on. Fashion disaster! But yeah, she’s best looking of the last batch of girls.
Meryl’s voice is sooo flat! Choosing such a powerhouse song by Christina Aguilera is a damn bad move when you obviously dont have what it takes. Looks are ok, image portrayed is not bad. Typical chinese girl who you always see in Singapore. Nothing outstanding.
Back to everything, it’s SINGAPORE IDOL, a singing competition. We need at least those who sound pleasant & great personality. Even those who looks good but is only good at “croaking” or “wailing” are really discouraged from hurting more of us Singaporeans ears.

no doubt, Mathilda is the best singer of the night (although her chain of fools is boring). the problem is she doesnt have the unqiueness that will give us a deep impression.

Singing competition? More like a moneyleeching system for the media. Another winner = more advertisers = more contracts = more money! What they are paying the winner is just peanuts.

Please spare us the “very-mandarin” English. And the way she drags the longer tunes, I thought the speakers were faulty.

Best personality should go to Joaquim, though that dude seriously cant sing.
All in all, at least, Taufik still bags the Singapore Idol, though I can’t agree he is like an ultra great singer too. But definitely a better singer and entertainer than Sylvester. To have an ‘ah beng’ or ‘ah lian’ as Singapore Idol would be such a disgrace.
But still, to each his own… No hard feelings…
And I seriously agree with you, I think the show is only a platform to suck money from Singaporeans. Only dumb people would spent a hell load of their money for the show. I think I’d rather donate the money to charities.
Anyway, i think a lot of Singaporeans are really thankful for your very great updates on SG Idol and uploading the videos.
